Sojourn Arabians believes that the ideal Arabian should demonstrate a good disposition, good performance ability, sound conformation, and an abundance of Arabian type. Our research has shown us that as a group, CMK Arabians fit our concept of the ideal Arabian horse. Through the years, CMK Arabians have proven themselves in many areas of equine discipline: trail riding, show ring performance, driving, jumping, playing polo, ranch work, performing in circus liberty acts, flat racing, endurance racing, dressage, trick exhibitions, and serving as pack horses. As a rule, trainable horses are tractable, pleasant, and cooperative; horses that perform well generally are conformed well; and Arabians that have been bred along CMK lines for three quarters of a century definitely have the type that shouts, "Arabian!"

In 1998, Sojourn Arabians made the decision to join the CMK preservation movement. We are blending lines emphasizing Skowronek and Gulastra, with descendants from the Kellogg breeding program which incorporated the above lines and more, including descendants from the Homer Davenport desert importation of 1906.

Our current stallion, Belesemo Farwa, combines all of these elements (i.e., Crabbet, Maynesboro, and Kellogg) into one typey, beautiful, willing, athletic package. He is siring exceptionally well for us. Sojourn will be adding extra infusions of Davenport blood to maintain in our horses the special essence of the authentic, antique, Bedouin Arabian.
